Under the oversight of USP Holdings, Mary Joy USA connects donors, partners, volunteers, and the Ethiopian diaspora with the locally led work of Mary Joy Ethiopia. Together, they support vulnerable children, older adults, families, caregivers, unemployed youth, and people living with HIV/AIDS through education, healthcare, feeding assistance, livelihood development, child protection, and social services.

It is a bridge between generosity in the United States and dignity, opportunity, and long-term self-sufficiency in Ethiopia.

The Meried Scholarship Program

The Meried Scholarship Program honors a respected young leader who guided USP Ethiopia with remarkable maturity, responsibility, and dedication. Meried believed education could create a better future, so the program gives eligible employees who have completed at least one year of service the opportunity to pursue a university education and advance their careers.

Every scholarship turns remembrance into momentum—for an employee, a family, and the community around them.

The commitment reflects a deep devotion to Archangel Gabriel, honored by the organization as a source of protection and guidance throughout its journey.

The result is more than a building: it is an enduring home for worship, fellowship, cultural connection, and spiritual growth.

USP Holdings built Debre Bisrat St. Gabriel Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church from the ground up on the land of our grandparents in Mugarge. Dedicated to Archangel Gabriel, it holds a deeply personal place in the USP family story—connecting faith, ancestry, and the land from which the family journey began.

It stands as a living tribute to previous generations and a spiritual home for generations still to come.
